About Us

Our Mission

The Purpose of the KC Rising Stars is to educate, encourage, empower and to improve opportunities for our youth through education and sports. Our mission is to teach the children of our community the guiding principles of discipline, teamwork, honesty, effort, dedication and sportsmanship. Which will enable them to grow into respectable, trustworthy and well developed adults.

Our Purpose

The KC Rising  Stars was started because I felt the need for a better opportunity to be given to young men in our community through sports. With our program, it will enable these young men the opportunity to compete at the highest level of youth sports at a fraction of the cost. Majority of our kids within the community have the skill set to compete at the highest level but they just don’t have the financial means to do so. Our program will allow our youth to play locally and provide the experience of domestic travel throughout the country as well.

Our Vision

It is our vision that we will provide an atmosphere that will promote academic and athletic success in the youth of our community. We believe that our culturally diverse teams help bridge racial, religion and cultural barriers. And when harnessed properly, instills hope and self esteem within the community. This is why every Rising Star must maintain a 2.0 GPA in order to compete in our organization. Discipline, good behavior and hard work is expected on and off the court.

Our Goals

We accept athletes based on character, commitment and athletic ability. No consideration is given to racial, religious, or cultural status. We target the athlete who desires to compete in high school and college. One of our goals is to send a “complete athlete” to college and get back a graduated solid citizen who will continue the tradition. We will teach the kids to be winners, not just in the game of basketball but also the game of life.

Our Commitment

In order to meet our commitment to excellence in service, every effort is made to recruit volunteers who are positive role models and accept the premise that winning is a result not a reason.
